Post Brexit Trade Deal – What does this mean for London Businesses?

Oksana Howard, a Partner in our Corporate and Commercial Department, has presented the webinar on the new EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement, which was hosted by the Greater London Authority’s London Business Hub on 21 January 2021.

As part of her presentation Oksana has provided a general overview of the key areas of the new Trade and Cooperation Agreement and also gave a useful guidance to UK businesses in relation to the following issues:

  1. Trading in goods with the EU – new requirements on import and export, application of rules of origin when claiming preferential tariffs treatment
  2. Trading in services and digital services with the EU – service trade barriers, data flows and appointing EU representatives
  3. Employing EU nationals in the UK or employing UK nationals in the UK companies’ European offices
  4. Intellectual Property rights and transfer of EU data
