Wolfs Advocaten is expanding. A second office in Venlo since Oktober 1, 2014.

After having spent 12 years establishing itself in Maastricht and the south of Limburg, Wolfs Advocaten is now opening an additional independant office in Venlo. This development has been long in the making. After all, some of Wolfs Advocaten’s fields of expertise are international trade law, customs law, transport law and insurance law. Entrepreneurs in the hotspot for logistics that Venlo is have indicated to be in need of legal advice and assistance in all of these areas of the law. After a couple of lectures on logistic subjects the office will be opened by Stephan Satijn, City Councilman of economics an knowledge-infrastructure on Tuesday January 27.

Wolfs Advocaten was founded in 2003 by Maastricht’s native LL.M John Wolfs, who had previously been employed by large lawfirms in Washington and Rotterdam. Even in the early days he predicted a growing demand for legal advice regarding transportation law and insurance law due to the international positioning of Limburg and the ever-growing logistical sector. Because of this vision, in recent years the firm was frequently consulted for legal assistance in complex constructions and for (inter)national entrepreneurial disputes, often in logistical matters. One of the defining characteristics of Wolfs Advocaten is its pragmatic approach and its resolution to resolve any issues, all the while trying to avoid initiating legal procedings as much as possible.

“Going to court means taking the easy route”, says John Wolfs. “At our firm, we strive to avoid this course. Together with our principal and the other party we look for a solution that fits within the legal framework and is a satisfying result for all those involved.” Customers sharing their experiences with Wolfs Advocaten often describe the firm as: hands-on, solution-oriented, accessible, trusted advisor, trustworthy, decent and customer-friendly. All of these descriptions indicate that Wolfs Advocaten is a strategic partner to the entrepreneur, and not a firm in search of short-term gain. “A large number of clients has been with us for 10 years, and we are very proud of that,” says John Wolfs.

The firm is made up of 18 employees, including LL.M Sandy Bruijns-Emons, specializing in insurance and transport law, LL.M Lieke Isenborghs, specializing in labour law, and LL.M Joan Wittingham, specializing in international trade and transport law. Aside from these specialisms Wolfs Advocaten also operates in areas such as litigation, company law, contract law, insolvency and intellectual property. The firm is a member of both Eurojuris and International Referral, international networks of independant lawfirms in Europe.
