The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC/NIST800), Export Controls and the Impact to Universities and Companies

Thursday, June 18th @ 1 p.m – 2:30 p.m. EST (90 minutes)

 Presenters:

Jerry Leishman, VP & National Regulatory Compliance Director of the CORTAC Group, and Christos Linardakis, Of Counsel, Braumiller Law Group

This webinar will address the many overlapping aspects of the Department of Defense Cybersecurity requirements (CMMC), and the Export and ITAR controls applicable to both universities and private sector companies. We’ll discuss the May GAO report to Congress on the U.S. State and Commerce Departments’ requirements to address university-specific compliance issues. In addition, we’ll discuss how CMMC controls run parallel to Export/ITAR requirements, and leveraging both for the benefit of all parties (universities, companies and the USG), in order to capture both grants and future business, including under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants, which are available through, not only the DOD, but other federal agencies.

Key takeaways

·         Current and future national defense and security requirements being imposed by both State and Commerce Departments

·         Gain an understanding of how CMMC/NIST800 will play a role in future DoD contracts, RFQs, and SBIR grants

·         How Small Businesses may leverage their size and agility, to position themselves in future grants and awards, including applying the same principles to other Federal Agencies who also have SBIR grants available

 Who should attend:

Companies interested in partnering with the DOD and other government agencies (i.e. DOT, DOA, DOE, etc.), research institutions and universities, companies in general, and small business enterprises looking to take advantage of joint programs such as Small Business Innovation Research grants.

Webinar Fee: $25.00 * FREE Registration for Veterans and currently active military/government personnel.
