Tucker Ellis Expands Business Law Capabilities With Synergy Law Group

Tucker Ellis LLP is pleased to announce that it has expanded its business and transactions law practice by combining the Synergy Law Group, LLC into the nationwide firm. The combination will enhance the firm’s existing business practice – adding five attorneys, one paralegal, and two staff members – and provide a strong platform for continued expansion in Chicago.

Joining Tucker Ellis in Chicago are Synergy Law Group founding members, Arthur Mertes and Bartly Loethen, along with attorneys John Arbogast and Adam Kase. Joining Tucker Ellis in Los Angeles is attorney Kristen Baracy.

Mr. Mertes and Mr. Loethen founded Synergy Law Group in 2000 with a focus on delivering high-quality legal counsel for the full range of service needs of middle-market growth companies, emerging businesses, a small cap public companies, executives, and investors.

“We’ve had a wonderful experience running Synergy over the past nearly 19 years and serving complex transactional and general corporate and business legal needs,” said Mr. Mertes. “With Tucker Ellis, we look forward to bringing an even greater depth of resources and experience to Chicago’s business community.”

“Our transactions practice has continued to evolve with the needs of our clients and Chicago’s Tech community,” added Mr. Loethen. “This is yet another positive evolution and will well serve the needs of the area’s growth companies.”

Tucker Ellis Managing Partner Joe Morford commented, “We are fortunate to have attracted lawyers of this calibre to help us expand our business capabilities and broaden our client base. Like Synergy’s clients, our corporate clients across the United States will benefit from this strategic partnership. With Synergy, we’ve found a perfect fit for our next growth step.”
