The commercial law firm GvW Graf von Westphalen is continuing to expand its competence in the area of digitalization. At the beginning of the year, the well-known telecommunications law (TC-law) expert, Dr. Grace Nacimiento, joined the law firm’s Düsseldorf office as a partner. She is accompanied by her associate of many years Dr. Carolin Küll, who is joining GvW as Counsel.
“Dr. Nacimiento represents to a high degree the specialization which our clients expect from us,” said Christof Kleinmann and Dr. Robert Theissen, managing partners of the law firm. “As recognized telecommunications lawyer, she adds a further significant field to our services connecting to many existing GvW practice areas.”
In addition to classic TC-law, Dr. Nacimiento works in particular at the interfaces to IT law, IT security, data protection and media law. The “experienced” and “well networked” attorney (JUVE Handbook for Commercial Law Firms 2018/2019) is also contributing her many years of experience in representing companies in telecommunications proceedings before the administrative courts. Her clients include well-known companies in the TC/IT sector and other industries which she advises on current topics such as spectrum management/auctions, M2M communications, connected car services and the Internet of Things.
Dr. Nacimiento comments her move: “GvW represents better than almost any other commercial law firm successful cooperation among practice areas and offices. In the age of digitalization, TC-law is increasingly linked to issues arising under IT law and data protection law. The law firm with the well-known IT and data protection practice provides an ideal platform for me to provide services together and comprehensively to my clients in the TC/IT industry.”
The practice group IP/IT and media at the law firm counts twelve attorneys. The team led by Stephan Menzemer (IT/data protection) and Dr. Joachim Mulch (IP) is well regarded by clients for expertise, among other fields, in the area of digitalization.
