Ministry of Economy Activities Suspension. Effects on IMMEX, PROSEC and Drawback Programs.

On August 12, 2021, the Ministry of Economy published in the Federal Official Gazette the “Accord whereby diverse activities of the Ministry of Economy are suspended due to the increase of confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID 19) among its personnel”.

This Accord’s purpose is to suspend the terms of procedures and services of the Ministry of Economy specifically in certain areas and departments and due to the increase in confirmed cases of public servants infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).

Suspension of activity:

» The following procedures and terms carried out before the General Directorate of Commercial Facilitation and Foreign Trade are suspended:

  • Those derived from the IMMEX Decree,
  • Those derived from the PROSEC Decree;
  • Those derived from the Drawback Decree

This suspension is also applicable to those procedures initiated before the entry into force of this Accord.

» All activities corresponding to the Legal Support Unit of the General Directorate of Constitutional and Legal Procedures and Litigation Coordination are suspended, in case of defence and representation of the Ministry of Economy before jurisdictional authorities, administrative courts and labour courts.

All Document Reception offices of the Ministry of Economy must refrain from receiving documents when these correspond to the above cited Legal Support Directorate (including those located in the premises of Pachuca 189 and UPCI).

The above suspension will cease effects on September 2 and 24, 2021 and shall be considered in effect as of August 12, 2021.
