MCS’ JONATHAN THALHEIMER UNDERTAKES NATIONAL LEADERSHIP ROLES IN TWO LEADING REAL ESTATE & FINANCE LAW GROUPS

MCS partner Jonathan Thalheimer is expanding his leadership role in the community of real estate and real estate finance lawyers, assuming leadership positions in the two leading national organizations devoted to the practice.

In October, during ACMA’s 45th annual meeting in Tucson, members of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA) – an invitation-only organization of the nation’s most respected mortgage law and real estate finance lawyers – elected Jonathan for a seat on the Board of Regents. Jonathan has also been appointed as Co-Chair of the organization’s Capital Markets Committee and to another term as Texas State Chair.

Formed in 1974, ACMA is comprised of fewer than 450 lawyers in North America who are leaders in the mortgage law industry. Members (Fellows) share a commitment to giving back to their industry, improving and reforming laws and procedures affecting real estate secured transactions, and raising the level of professional responsibility of lawyers practicing in this area.

Jonathan is also deeply involved in the other leading organization of real estate law practitioners – the American College of Real Estate Counsel (ACREL). In October, he was appointed Chair of ACREL’s Capital Markets Committee effective January 1, 2019. In October, he moderated both a panel discussion and a roundtable discussion at the ACREL 40th Anniversary Annual meeting in New Orleans on the topic of “You Have a CMBS Loan, Now What.”
