We are delighted to announce that on 3rd February 2014 Klein Solicitors, a multiple award-winning boutique law firm, merged with Hunters.

Klein’s Managing Director, Gregor Kleinknecht joins the firm as a Partner in theDispute Resolution and Business Services departments, whilst Gregor’s assistant,Petra Williams-Lescht, joins those departments as an Assistant Solicitor.

Gregor, who was the Corporate LiveWire Litigation Lawyer of the Year in 2013, is a dual qualified English and German lawyer with a practice centred on international dispute resolution and business transactions, and a well developed expertise in both contentious and non-contentious Intellectual Property and Art Law. His IP clients include an Ivy League University and well-known brand names, whilst his Art Law expertise ranges from advice to commercial galleries engaged in international art market transactions to Holocaust restitution claims.

Before pursuing a legal career Petra read History of Art in the United States and then did an MA at the Courtauld Institute of Art. She then worked in museums, galleries and auction houses in the United States and London.

Hunters’ Senior Partner Paul Almy said:

“We are very happy to welcome Gregor and Petra to the firm, which will strengthen our growing Dispute Resolution and Business Services departments. Of particular interest to us is Gregor’s Art Law expertise which builds on Hunters’ expanding reputation in this area. Our Heritage Property department is now listed in the Art & Cultural Property section of the Legal 500 2013 and in the Private Client: Art, Collectables & Auctions division of Chambers 2014, where Heritage Property Partner, Hetty Gleave, is listed as a leader in her field. Hetty is also a member of the Treasure Valuation Committee, which advises the Secretary of State of the fair market value of declared treasure finds in England, Wales and Northern Ireland which museums wish to purchase. This means that the firm is able to bring a unique knowledge of Art and Antiquity Law to advise those involved in the art world.”
