IR Global – Special Announcement Keeping you informed

Dear Members,

It seems like only yesterday when many of us were together in Amsterdam (for the last annual event) that we announced our 10 Year Anniversary conference was going to be in London this coming September. This was a milestone event which we know you were looking forward to as much as us. However, unfortunately, we have now come to terms with the inevitable, that the event needs to be postponed. We believe this is the only decision possible when we take into consideration several key factors; the health and well-being of our members and staff, international travel / flight restrictions, punitive quarantine periods here in the UK and social distancing issues which are still going to be in place this September which will affect the conference and social venues.

We are however pleased to announce that the rearranged dates for this annual conference will be 24-26th October, 2021, still in London.

Despite this postponement, we would like to thank to all IR members, various committees, as well as all our strategic partners and friends in the international legal, accountancy and finance communities for their invaluable contributions and unwavering support this year. We remain deeply committed to ensuring that IR Global consistently delivers world class service and remains at the forefront of our industry. The global pandemic has certainly been the greatest collective challenge we have had to deal with in this generation’s history but we are in no doubt to the resilience of each you as individuals and together as a network to come through this even stronger.

Apart from the unfortunate postponement of the events and national / regional meetings recently, its business as usual and the IR Global community has been busy arranging and implementing new initiatives to keep you connected, networking and maintaining existing relationships virtually.

Virtual calls / meetings are a great platform to continue conversations amongst one another, whilst sharing business opportunities and referrals. Our Working Groups are taking part in virtual meetings hosted by IR Management and our Committee Members, to discuss current events in their sectors, opportunities and challenges, to share advice and expertise and give them the opportunity to create new relationships and stay connected. You can see the results of these across our social media platforms, further connecting and highlighting IR members hard work.

Furthermore, we will be hosting a virtual annual conference later in the year which will feature working group meetings, matchmaking, high level speaker content, IR updates and more. We will share details in due course.

Finally, we would also like to share our commitment to social causes and our ongoing support to the Sinchi Foundation. Despite this being a very challenging time for many of us, sadly, remote communities like those living in the Amazon are at an even greater risk. As an organization via their Amazonian Covid-19 Fund, we have been able to donate a significant amount, enabling the community’s leadership to rent a boat, cover fuel costs and deliver hundreds of food baskets to over 50 remote communities throughout the region. We are a global family and will continue to support one another and it’s been beautiful to see relationships and connections being strengthened during these hard times. We would also like to say thank you to our IR team directly whose hard work, dedication and genuine care for our members allow us to continue our work.

Most of all, we continue to wish everyone good health and we look forward to sharing special times together again in person in the not so distant future.
