IR Global Member Lands Prestigious Award

An IR Global  member has been recognised by Thai royalty for her inspirational business achievements.

Jill Cua was named as one of the Outstanding ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs 2019 by Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol at JW Marriott Hotel in Bangkok in June.

The award – which is supported by the Asian Women Entrepreneurs Network – celebrates the accomplishments of women who have made a remarkable impact in their business field, in society, and the economy.

Cua – who has five degrees across the business and law sectors – has overseen the growth of her own accountancy and business advisory firm, JSC & Co, after launching the firm in 2009, which now has four offices across the Philippines with 70 staff serving clients domestically as well as internationally, thanks to support from IR Global.

She is also President of the Each One Teach One Foundation in Cagayan de Oro, and dedicates some of her time to helping Philippines’ next generation of women to fulfil their potential.

“I was surprised and honoured in equal measure to receive this recognition,” said Cua, 40, who is the youngest ever Filipino woman to receive the award.

“It’s been a remarkable journey taking business from one person in a small office to 70 staff in four offices in Manila, Cebu, Davao and Cagayan de Oro cities.

“I always tell people I’m mentoring that it’s important to be happy in what you are doing as that mentality will take you a long way.

“A key part of my business’ growth has also been people management – identifying the right people for the right roles, trusting them to carry out their duties and giving credit where it is due.”

JSC & Co, a multi-disciplinary firm, became a member of IR Global in 2019 which has aided the firm’s growth and resulted in working relationships with clients around the world.

Cua added: “Working with associations such as IR Global provides a great opportunity for my business to unlock further international growth, whether it is providing services to a fellow IR Global member, or being able to identify the provider of a niche service that one of our existing clients requires.”
