IOM Welcomes New Employees

On 1 September 2022, IOM Law welcomed two new employees in their offices in Son, Norway. The employees, Torhild Rossum and Lena Wammer Ostgaard, compliment the pre-existing team of three and bring with them new practice areas and portfolios.

Torhild is a new Lawyer in IOM Law, bringing with her more than 30 years of international experience as a lawyer, from Norway, Canada, and the Netherlands. She has broad experience from the Royal Dutch Shell Group and served 20 years as the General Counsel for the Norwegian branch, AS Norske Shell.

Lena has joined IOM Law as a Legal Assistant, having graduated from Queen Mary University of London in 2021 with an LL.M in International Law. Lena brings with her experience as a research assistant for Professor Malgosia Fitzmaurice and as a researcher for the International State Crime Initiative in London. IOM Law is a boutique firm, offering services related to low carbon solutions and technologies.

Torhild and Lena will be working on both national and international projects, helping private and public clients develop, implement, interpret and comply with national, EU and international framework for climate change mitigation, energy transition, and carbon reduction and removals. IOM Law’s CEO, Ingvild Ombudstvedt, is excited to welcome the two team members and emphasizes that the company has experienced a significant increase in referrals and enquiries from new clients and projects over the last couple of years.

The urgency to address climate change and mitigate the consequences thereof comes with a need to adapt policy and regulatory framework to support and accommodate for new technologies and value chains. To achieve this, legal professionals need to team up with commercial stakeholders, scientists and policymakers to ensure viable public-private partnerships
