Grinhaus Law Firm (www.grinhauslaw.ca), a boutique business, estates and tax law firm, as well as a leading firm in Blockchain advisory located in Toronto, Canada, has become the first
Canadian law firm, and one of only a handful world-wide, to establish itself in the Metaverse by setting up a professional office in Decentraland on January 24, 2022. The office is located in a busy area by the main road at -39,121, which is also near Decentraland University, giving credence to the firm’s substantial academic contributions to Blockchain and Smart Contract law. Grinhaus Law Firm, one of the world’s first law firms to publicly advise on Blockchain law and cryptocurrency regulation, made headlines in 2019 when its founder, Aaron Grinhaus, published the world’s first textbook on Blockchain and Smart Contract law with the global publishing powerhouse LexisNexis. Mr. Grinhaus is also Co-Director of the prestigious Blockchain Certificate Program at Osgoode Hall Law School of York University and actively continues to publish and advise various Blockchain businesses and projects, including exchanges, investment funds, NFT and DeFi projects.

“We are very excited to be part of the new generation of professionals who recognize that the 800,000+ residents of Decentraland and the billions of people in the Metaverse world-wide deserve access to bespoke legal and professional services” said Aaron Grinhaus, the founder of Grinhaus Law Firm. “We hope that this move will allow us to further demystify what people still consider a ‘gray area’ of the law and help legitimize the existence of the Metaverse.”

Residents of Decentraland can visit the law firm, ask questions, make appointments to speak with lawyers and connect with legal counsel to discuss a range of legal issues. The virtual office will also be a place to explore legal and regulatory Blockchain matters with other like-minded individuals. To facilitate the provision of various Blockchain related services, Grinhaus Law Firm has invited other professional service providers to join the virtual office. The first of which is DGM Financial Group, based in the crypto-friendly jurisdiction of Barbados, which is a global financial services firm that provides Trust Administration, Corporate Services, Management Services to insurance and non-insurance companies, Family Office, Director Services, and is a Listing Sponsor on the Barbados Stock Exchange. Grinhaus Law Firm and DGM will service clients globally and throughout the Metaverse.

Grinhaus Law Firm was established in 2012 and is a business, tax and regulatory focused firm with a niche expertise in Blockchain and Smart Contract law.
