GLNS and SKW Schwarz advise GetYourGuide on USD 50 million growth financing led by KKR

GetYourGuide, the internet’s largest booking platform for travel activities, has announced a USD 50 million financing round led by KKR, the leading global investment firm. The company’s existing investors Spark Capital, Highland Capital Partners and Sunstone, as well as new investors such as Nokia Growth Partners, will join KKR in its investment.

GetYourGuide was founded 2009 in Switzerland and is now headquartered in Berlin. The company is managed by its co-founders, Johannes Reck and Tao Tao, and backed by industry veterans Kees Koolen (former CEO of booking.com) and Fritz Demopoulos (founder of Qunar.com) as well as leading venture capital firms Spark Capital and Highland Capital Partners.

GLNS advised GetYourGuide on the transaction with a team including partners Dr. Daniel Gubitz (M&A/Venture Capital) and Andreas Scheidle (Tax) as well as associates Ferdinand Graf von Spreti and Maximilian Schott (both Corporate), alongside a team from Walder Wyss in Zurich consisting of partners Florian Gunz Niedermann (M&A/Venture Capital) and Maurus Winzap (Tax) as well as associates Simon Kehl and Christian Lütolf. SKW Schwarz also provided advice through a team including Dr. Matthias Orthwein (IP/IT), Dr. Martin Greßlin (Labor) and Elisabeth Noltenius (Commercial/Media).

Hengeler Mueller advised KKR on the German law aspects of the transaction with Dr. Emanuel Strehle, Fabian Seip and Philip Goj. Bär Karrer with a team around Dr. Luca Jagmetti, Michael Trippel and Raphael Annasohn provided advice on Swiss law.

Other advisers included Nicolas Gabrysch from Osborne Clarke for Spark and Highland, and Dr. André Eggert and Yamila Eraso from Lacore for Nokia Growth Partners.
