Gleiss Lutz named “International Firm of the Year 2011”

The London-based magazine Legal Business named Gleiss Lutz “International Firm of the Year 2011” at last week’s award ceremony in London. Key factors taken into account by the judges for making their decision included a clear demonstration of growing market share, stellar financial performance, strong management, a successful recruitment and retention strategy and a significant client development programme.

It is the sixth time in a row that Gleiss Lutz has received an accolade as best law firm. In 2010, the firm was already named “German Law Firm of the Year” by Chambers and Partners and most recently as “Law Firm of the Year 2010” by leading German legal publisher JUVE.

Dr. Rainer Loges, Managing Partner of Gleiss Lutz comments: “Our aim is to provide our clients with seamless service and efficient advice around the globe. This award is a confirmation that our international strategy is spot on and successful.” As one of the largest internationally active full service law firms in Germany, Gleiss Lutz has been working for more than 60 years in a flexible international network and has forged close ties across the world with law firms that are leaders in their jurisdictions. The alliance with Herbert Smith and Stibbe forms a core part of Gleiss Lutz’ international strategy. Alliance firm Herbert Smith was also honoured at the Legal Business Awards 2011 as “Dispute Resolution Team of the Year”.

Gleiss Lutz has most recently advised:
State of Baden-Württemberg on the purchase of Electricité de France S.A.’s stake in EnBW AG and on the subsequent takeover offer
