Central Bank publishes SPI Regulation and IP account

The Central Bank of Brazil released new Regulations for the Instant Payments System (SPI) and the Instant Payments Account (Conta PI).

The SPI is the centralized infrastructure for real-time gross settlement of instant payments that result in the transfer of funds between its participants holding an IP Account at the Central Bank.

BCB Resolution No. 195, of 3/3/2022, which will come into force on April 1st, will regulate the functioning of the SPI and PI Account.
