2021 has already seen the largest number of Brazilian IPOs in the USA. The deals involved Vtex, Zenziam, Patria and Vinvi. This year, five companies are still planning to debut on the NASDAQ or NYSE (US stock exchanges) by December, among them may be Nubank and Hotmart.
In the last 5 years, Brazilian companies raised almost US$ 9 billion in IPOS in the United States, accounting for 13 operations. This year alone, $1.44 billion has been raised. The largest volume registered was in 2018, when three IPOs reached US$3.72 billion. The information comes to us from Valor Econômico.
The large market and visibility in the USA are factors that attract attention from Brazilian companies to invest in the American stock market. The bigger competition, when compared to Brazilian markets, on the stock exchange also attracts the interest of investors, who have more options to make an investment.
Another factor is the performance of the S&P 500, the stock market index in the United States, which has been growing rapidly in the last five months. In other words, selling shares on the American stock market is very advantageous.
According to statistics from Economatica, of the new IPOs from Latin American companies with a positive performance, seven are Brazilian, a figure that shows the relevance of the Brazilian market in the area.
In the 1st half of 2021 alone, a total of 577 IPOs were opened in the US, a historic milestone in the US market. The data comes to us from the Stock Analysis website.
