July 15, 2017 (Pittsburgh, PA) For Immediate Release – Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. attorneys Robert DelGreco, Jr. and Albert P. Veverka, defended James Bongionrni, who was charged with criminal homicide. After a one week jury trial, defended by DelGreco and Veverka, Mr. Bongiorni was acquitted of all charges based on a justification defense.
Mr. Bongiorni, 69 years old of Burgettstown, spent one year incarcerated in the Washington County Jail awaiting trial under the theory of first degree murder. After a two hour deliberation, the jury found Bongiorni not guilty in the fatal shooting of his daughter’s ex-boyfriend.
Had he been convicted, Mr. Bongiorni faced life in prison without the possibility of parole.
