Our History
Morrison Kent’s history of providing legal services can be traced back to the 1920s, over 90 years ago. The firm has changed shape and name over the years, settling on the name Morrison Kent in 1996. Throughout its rich history, the firm has produced many high profile lawyers, including a High Court Judge (Sir John Jeffries) and a Governor General (Sir Michael Hardie Boys). Tess is focused on providing pragmatic advice, and achieving the best possible outcomes, in a timely and cost-effective manner. Tess is particularly interested in assisting with disciplinary and performance management issues, restructures, and issues arising out of the parental leave legislation. Tess will work with you to assess the issues with legal and practical considerations in mind, and explain options for moving forward in plain language.
Experience
Tess has a wide range of experience across all aspects of employment law – including disciplinary issues, performance management, personal grievances, restructuring and redundancy, parental leave, health and safety, salary and wage matters, employment agreements and restraints of trade. Tess is experienced in mediation, the Employment Relations Authority, and has appeared in the Employment Court.
Tess regularly presents seminars and enjoys partnering with businesses to conduct issues-based training for management to upskill them in employment relations matters.
