BDO Bahamas was founded by Clifford Culmer in 1977, and was initially called Clifford Culmer & Co, which later became Mann Judd. In 1995 the firm joined BDO International Limited, which is currently the world’s fifth largest accounting organization.

For over thirty years, BDO Bahamas has provided services to both government corporations and private clientele as well as, winding up of companies, acting as trustee in bankruptcies and participating in a number of high profile international liquidations, and over the years the firm has not only grown is size, but also in stature.
The landmark case in 1982, known as 'in re Culmer', established that the provisions of Bahamian law relating to liquidation proceedings are in conformity with international common law as a result of the Banco Ambrosiano bankruptcy, and set a worldwide precedence in liquidation proceedings. This decision is still referred to in global insolvencies today.
In addition to the firm’s corporate recovery and insolvency expertise, BDO Bahamas has also developed a team of in house accounting, assurance / audit, corporate finance and forensic accounting investigation experts. As a director of BDO Advisory Services in Nassau Bahamas, Myles is responsible for the delivery of advisory services to clients. Myles has a number of years' experience in investment management, trading and banking. Prior to joining BDO he was employed with a leading mutual fund with over 300 billion in assets under management. Myles also has experience working in the hedge fund industry, and as assistant treasurer of a major US bank in charge of asset and liability management.
While at BDO, Myles has participated in a number of complex cross border asset recoveries, corporate restructurings and receivership's most notably, The Grand Bahama Port Authority & Port Group Limited as the Joint Receiver & Manager. The role basically saw Myles as the joint chairman with control and preservation of the goodwill of all of the assets of the companies and with overall control of the entity that is charged with the management of Freeport Grand Bahama, a city of 60,000 and the second largest city in The Bahamas.
