The firm has more than 30 years’ experience in legal practice. It was founded by Joost Meijer, LL.M. and Kaushilya Budhu Lall, LL.M. under the name “Meijer advocaten en belastingadviseurs” (Meijer lawyers and tax consultants).
Our firm is independent and your interests will always be our first priority. We believe in a personal relationship with our clients. Since its foundation, the firm has built up a wide range of clients, including small and medium-size businesses and (high net worth) individuals.
Our clients operate at both the national and international level, and we provide support in various fields of commercial law. For instance, we advise them on drawing up standard terms and conditions and concluding contracts with third parties, such as leases, employment contracts and collaboration agreements.
If problems arise in the execution of a contract, we endeavour to reach a settlement with the other party. If a settlement is not possible, we institute proceedings for our client, also in cases against government authorities. We also advice about agency agreements and distribution contracts. We assist businesses in laying down the legal aspects of a change in their company structure, preferably in consultation with their accountant and their principal bank.
We also have extensive experience in advising non-profit organizations, such as public benefit organizations and government bodies. Furthermore we also litigate in Wills, Trust and Estate matters.
Partner in Holland House, Bogotá, Colombia and partnership in the Dutch Caribbean
Our firm is a partner in ‘Holland House’ (one-stop-shop for businesses in Colombia) which offers several services to entrepreneurs and serves as a meeting point for Dutch and Colombian businesses. You can approach us for all legal matters in order to make a success out of your activities on the Colombian market and for strengthening your position in Latin America.
For services in the Dutch Caribbean we work closely together with davidkocklegal a lawfirm with offices in Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao.
