Harvard LL.M, 1993, has acted in many of the most important commercial and financial transactions in Paraguay recently.
For example, he has lead the local team through the most important acquisition in recent times in the telecommunications sector, acting as counsel for Millicom International Cellular and its local company, currently an ALTRA client. He has also had a leading role in a multimillionaire investment in the hydrocarbons sector. Currently, ALTRA is advising Yazaki, a subsidiary of the leading Japanese business in the MERCOSUR in the production of electric parts for automobiles. ALTRA is also advising in fiduciary structures of millions of dollars for diverse constructions and the real estate sector.
Dr. Moreno is a member of the Governing Council of UNIDROIT, a global intergovernmental organization in charge of regulating topics in relation to contracts, stock markets, civil transnational processes and other aspects of private law. He is also a member of the Arbitration Court of the International Chamber of Commerce.
In addition, he teaches courses on international contracts at the University of Paris, Pantheón-Assas, Heidelberg University in Chile and the Externado University in Colombia, inter alia.
He has published articles on investment, arbitration, contracts, banking law and stock markets, fusions and acquisitions and other matters in various countries in America and Europe.
Dr. Moreno has broad experience leading teams in his previous law firm (in which he acted as Executive Director for more than 20 years, leading various rankings at different times), in international organizations such as the American Association of Private International Law (ASADIP) and in local guilds such as the prestigious Paraguayan Institute of Banking and Society Law (IPDBS), integrated by the principal corporate lawyers of the country.
