Head of the Life Science and Healthcare Practice, lecturer at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow.Ph.D. made at the Jagiellonian University based on the doctoral thesis: "Patent on a biotechnological invention and its patent quality in the comparative legal analysis" (2017). She is an expert in life science, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical, food and beauty industries. Joanna has also many years of experience in the field of intellectual property law, especially patent law, combating unfair competition and civil law. She advises business entities on international level. Member of industry organizations, including the National Council of Supplements and Nutrients in Poland. She has been participating in legislative work as part of public consultations, incl. relating to industrial property law, patent law and the law of combating unfair competition.
She was a member of an international research project regarding the patentability of inventions (based in Berlin 2013-2015). She received the scholarship of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for academic achievements twice and was an intern at the European Parliament. I completed postgraduate studies in competition law at the Polish Academy of Sciences (2013). She has been awarded the prize of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in the tenth edition of the competition for the best dissertation on intellectual property protection, announced by the President of the Polish Patent Office, for her master’s dissertation entitled “Protection of biodiversity and patent protection. Selected issues” (2012). She also was a graduate of WIPO – University of Dubrovnik Summer School on Intellectual Property.
Author of several dozen scientific and industry publications on intellectual property law (patent law), civil law and medical, pharmaceutical and food law. Speaker at several conferences in Poland, Europe, and East Asia. Lecturer to postgraduate students of Criminal Tax Law and Business Law, Medical Law, and Prevention and Combating Economic and Tax Crime (Department of Criminal Law of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Jagiellonian University).Show more +
