Show more +Ahmed Abou Ali is the managing partner of Hassouna & Abou Ali and its affiliate firm in Port Said, Abou Ali. He Combines Egyptian and U.S. legal education and practice. He has over 40 years’ experience representing numerous multinationals and large local businesses in Egypt in banking, commercial, corporate and capital market laws, mergers, acquisitions, project finance and restructuring, and legislative and economic reforms. In the U.S., he was involved in several corporate financing, leveraged buyouts and corporate restructuring as an attorney with Sidley Austin. He handles all aspects of corporate law from incorporation to dissolution, with significant part devoted to corporate governance issues and contractual relations between clients and their business partners, including suppliers, customers, landlords, tenants, and consultants, as well as areas of securities regulation and mergers and acquisitions.
He is an active member of several business associations and served or currently serves as Executive Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (AmCham), board member of the U.S. – Egypt Business Council, Egypt – Greek Business Council, Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES), Education for Employment Foundation (EFE), and chairman of the Egyptian Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (EIPPI). He also sits on the board of a number of companies including Telecom Egypt, Sekem Holding, and Enmaa Finance.
He is an admitted attorney in Egypt. He obtained his Law Degree from Cairo University; a Private Law Diploma from Cairo University; and an LL.M from Harvard Law School.
